ചരിത്രം

കല്പടവുകൾ കയറിച്ചെല്ലുന്നത് , നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾ പഴക്കമുള്ളതും , ദേവനിർമ്മിതം എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമായ പെരുമാൾപുരത്തിന്റെ തിരുമുറ്റത്തേക്കാണ് .

Thirunelli is one of the most important of the three temples - Illam , Vallam , Nelli , dedicated by Parasurama . Lakshminarayana swami resides here to give moksha and mukti to the souls of devotees, who are unable to perform Gaya shraddha . It is believed that the deities come to offer puja to perumal every day. For the purpose,after "athaza sreebeli" pooja materials are kept in sreelakam before closing it .

ബലികർമം

പ്രത്യേകം അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുക , അസ്ഥി ഒഴുക്കുവാനുള്ള സ്ഥലം അല്ല തിരുനെല്ലി . ആണ്ടുബലി സമർപ്പണശേഷം മാത്രമേ , തിരുനെല്ലിയിൽ ശ്രാദ്ധത്തിനായി എത്താവൂ . വൃതശുദ്ധിയോടെ ഒരിക്കൽ എടുത്ത് , തൃശ്ശ്ലേരി വിശ്വനാഥനെ വണങ്ങി , തിരുനെല്ലിയിൽ എത്തി , പാപനാശിനിയിൽ ശ്രാദ്ധമൂട്ടുന്നതോടെ , ആ ആത്മാവിനു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ആണ്ടുബലി അവസാനിക്കുകയായി . പിന്നീട് സന്തതിപരമ്പര കർക്കിടക വാവുബലി മാത്രമേ ആചരിക്കേണ്ടതായുള്ളു .
One thing to note is that , it is not a place to bathe ashes in the river Thirunelli.After the annual sacrifice of andubali comes to an end , only come here for shraddha . The annual oblation for the soul concludes with a bowing to Vishwanathan at Thrissileri, taken once with vratashuddhi, and offering "sradha" in papanasini at Thirunelli.Later only karkidakavavubali should be performed by the descendants for the soul of the deceased .
